As individuals grow much older, they often become self-cautious about the structure of the different parts of their body such as their nose or lips structure. This, in turn, prompts the individuals to get a medical opinion on how they can go about altering the structure of the different body parts.
Such procedures are often carried out by professional plastic surgeons. There are different plastic surgery procedures which individuals can undergo such as liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation among other plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty is one of the plastic surgery procedures which are aimed at reconstructing and correcting the nose.
However, there are different circumstances whereby the individual who has undergone different plastic surgery procedures does not feel content with the results achieved. This, therefore, makes them want to get a second opinion or even a second procedure in order to feel comfortable with their body. Such procedures are often possible but they have to be recommended by a professional plastic surgeon.
Revision rhinoplasty, also known as secondary rhinoplasty, usually involves re-operating on the nose which previously underwent some form of correction through surgery. There are different circumstances which may lead to this surgery such as obstructed airways, cancer or a perforated septum, external scarring which is brought about by thickened scar tissue, collapsed cartilage or excessive tip projection.
Despite having a previous rhinoplasty procedure, there are some individuals who often find it difficult to breath and this is often brought about by obstructed airways. Therefore undergoing this surgery allows the individual to breathe normally, as the airways are increased in size to allow easier breathing. Here are the main techniques or approaches used in the operation.
The closed technique is deemed ideal only when internal incisions are made in order to access the internal nasal structure. This ensures that all the incisions are internal and therefore one does not have to worry about having external scars.
Faster postoperative recovery
Reduces the likelihood of postoperative edema
The patient spends less time in the operating room
Open rhinoplasty involves an additional incision on the skin to provide direct visualization on the structure of the nose being altered. This, therefore, means that an incision will be made in between the nostril in order to allow lifting of the skin for easy alteration.
The technique used often depends on the surgeon's preferences and at the same time, the extent of damage posed to the patient's' nose.
The surgeon is in a better position to visualize the nose and at the same time provide a greater precision when reconstructing the nose.
The surgeon is also at a better place to see the cartilage and also remove the scarred tissues.
Open rhinoplasty also allows the surgeon to use non-destructive techniques when working on the cartilage.
When one is in a better position to see the nose structure clearly, then this increases the chances of having better results compared to the previous procedure.
This surgery is considered one of the most challenging cosmetic procedure any plastic surgeon can perform. This is due to the fact that the majority of the patients undergoing revision rhinoplasty often have high hopes that they will get better results compared to their initial procedure.
However, it is often advisable for patients to focus on the goals below in order to avoid any further disappointments.
Majority patients often consider undergoing a second procedure since they are unhappy with the results of the first procedure. Therefore it is important to acknowledge that every minimal change or alteration to the nose can have a positive impact on the patient's' appearance.
Understanding that the main goal of revision rhinoplasty is to bring about improvement and not perfection. Therefore, having this at the back of your mind during the procedure will ensure that the patient gets realistic expectations and this, in turn, decreases the chances of disappointments and dissatisfaction.
Individuals who have undergone rhinoplasty may experience breathing difficulties brought about obstructed airways. Therefore undergoing this surgery, one can be able to restore their breathing back to normal.
An ideal candidate for this surgery is considered as a healthy individual who is not satisfied with the results of their previous procedure. In this case, time is considered everything under these circumstances and it is advisable to wait for a period of 12 months in order for the wound to completely heal and reduce the chances of postoperative complications.
Therefore it is vital to liaise with your plastic surgeon in order for him/her to determine if you are a fit candidate for the procedure.
Individuals can be able to undergo revision rhinoplasty in an accredited plastic surgery facility which provides rhinoplasty services. This, therefore, means that the facility should be licensed and the physicians within that facility too should have a license showing that the services provided within the facility are legal.
Thus it is vital to check on the accreditation of any health facility before contracting their services.

White teeth are universally accepted as an attractive feature in a smile. It is important for people to feel comfortable expressing their emotions, and not resort to hiding their smile because of yellowing or discolored teeth. Dr. Marc Lazare specializes in general and cosmetic dentistry and can address discoloration of the teeth through a number of different treatment options.
A cosmetic dentist may provide bleaching treatments at their practice, or provide high-quality products for patients to use at home. Generally, the regimen consists of two trays that are fitted to the patient’s top and bottom teeth and a whitening gel that is spread inside them.
This ensures a more targeted and uniform whitening. Depending on patient tolerance, the treatment can be performed over shorter or longer time frames as some bleaching products lead to mild sensitivity.
The Zoom teeth whitening system is an in-office treatment that can leave the teeth up to 8 shades lighter. Generally performed following a routine dental cleaning, special devices (dams) are placed in the mouth to expose the teeth.
A gel is carefully applied to the exposed surfaces of the teeth, and a light source is directed at them. This accelerates the bleaching process and patients can achieve maximum impact through a single Zoom teeth whitening session.
Tooth-colored material that is used to fill in cavities or to complete other camouflaged dental corrections can also be used to address tooth discoloration. Some teeth may display permanent stains that result from trauma to the tooth, certain medications, and even issues with water fluoridation.
Your cosmetic dentist can buff out the imperfections and replace the discolored part of the tooth with composite bonding to correct these small cosmetic defects, leading to a whiter smile.
Dental veneers and laminates are thin shells of tooth-colored material that are fit over the exposed surface of the teeth to permanently alter their appearance. The material can address permanently discolored teeth that are difficult or impossible to whiten otherwise.
Some patients’ teeth display transparency from worn enamel, which exposes the yellow- or gray-colored dentin below. Others may find that having veneers or laminates placed is the easiest solution to addressing the color of the teeth as they can also reshape, realign, and treat other structural and cosmetic defects of the smile.
There are many cases where a dental crown may be necessary to improve a patient’s oral health. The laboratory-crafted structure looks and functions like a normal tooth, and is fitted over the existing structure, which must first be abraded to accommodate the new artificial tooth.
Generally, patients don’t receive crowns to whiten their teeth, but because the crown can be custom created, the new tooth may be made to appear whiter than the natural tooth, which may have been damaged and discolored in the process.
Some teeth that require a root canal treatment become discolored, and don’t improve in appearance following the minor dental surgery that is necessary to save the tooth. Because the staining occurs within the structure, internal bleaching is the only way to lighten the tooth once the nerve has been damaged and removed.
While root canal treatment is not performed for cosmetic purposes, the secondary bleaching process can be completed during the treatment. Generally, the bleach remains in the tooth for a few days and is then removed by the dentist so a permanent filling can be placed.
Dr. Lazare specializes in both general and cosmetic dentistry so patients can visit a single location for all of their dental needs. Through his own experiences in the dentist’s chair and the wealth of knowledge he acquired through dental school, Dr. Lazare feels passionate about delivering great care to his patients.

Travelling is always exciting, but carrying heavy luggage will definitely slow you down. No matter how much we attempt to skimp on some of our belongings, it is inevitable to leave behind even the barest necessities.
Many people would easily choose to remove their heavy and chunky hair dryers. This guide will show you five of the best hair dryers made for travelling so you can start travelling with style.
It is easy to get overwhelmed by the number of travel hair dryers available. Consider the following guidelines before making a purchase. Hopefully, this guide will help you find the perfect travel hair dryer for your vacation.
Understanding the amount of space you have left on your luggage can help you determine the type of hair dryer you need to have.
After seeing how much space you can allot for the hair dryer, decide if you can afford to bring other accessories that come with a hair dryer.
If not, it is time to look for standalone options. Apart from the amount of space, you must also consider the weight of your ideal travel hair dryer.
Doing so will help you avoid lugging a heavy suitcase. You might even save some money by avoiding overweight baggage in airlines.
As expected, travel hair dryers come in different forms and may even have specific features. Assess which functions you require for the ideal hair dryer.
Perhaps an ergonomic and space-saving design or a speedy drying function is all you need?
Remember that a travel hair dryer is not meant to be as robust as a regular dryer. The limited size may not be able to carry all the features you need.
But of course, this does not mean that they fall behind in terms of quality and their ability to get the job done right.
Travel hair dryers are normally more affordable than a regular hair dryer because they are considerably smaller in size and are simpler in terms of features.
But occasionally, you may find one or more travel dryers that are pricier than the rest.
Knowing your budget can help you decide on which functions you are willing to put your money on.
This will eventually help you narrow down your options in choosing a travel hair dryer.
Even when buying regular hair dryers, it is important to take note of the type of hair the hair dryer’s intended user has.
Many dryers have more heat and power settings, while some are just limited to 2 to 3 settings.
While it is simple, it may not be beneficial for your hair.
Some hair types do not handle heat very well, especially for dyed or bleached hair. While hardware may be very important, also consider the user of the product.
Just like regular hair dryers, travel hair dryers may also come in a plethora of features; most of them very specific for travelling.
In fact, plenty of newer hair dryers now have the adapter function already included. There’s no need to worry about travelling to a country with different plugs.
Hardware aside, travel hair dryers may also come with various add-ons for hair styling.
If you’re going to a place where intensive styling is needed, like a wedding or a formal occasion, you may want to consider getting those additional features.
Below is a list of travel hair dryers that prove to be worthy contenders as the best travel must-haves for stylish travelers. First, here is our ranking of these items:

Many women may not talk about it openly, but the sight of unwanted facial hair can be downright irritating - especially if we’re talking about our own faces!
Media has always portrayed women to have smooth, velvet-like skin. But even without that influence, one cannot deny that a clean and well groomed face speaks a lot about a person’s hygiene.
One of the most dominant problems regarding facial hair is how to get rid of sideburns. Yes, you’ve read that right. Women do have some sideburns!
Although not the type men would most likely have, it is oftentimes more visible than you think. In fact, it was trendy for quite some time in the fashion industry, and even throughout history.
But even so, majority of women still prefer to have them taken off due to lack of confidence or sheer desire to improve on their daily look.
Whatever your cause is for reading this article, read on to find out the best way to get rid of sideburns.
Before learning the different methods of removing sideburns, here’s a simple rule you need to follow right now: say no to shaving.
You might be thinking that since some men shave their sideburns, it should be safe for women to do as well, right?
Wrong! The skin on your face is very delicate. A little aggravation and will result to a multitude of skin problems.
Has anyone ever told you not to shave because your unwanted hair will keep increasing every time you do? The good news is, it is just the myth. But it’s not exactly false either.
For some people, shaving causes their hair to grow back thicker than before. If you’re looking to achieve a clean face, this is definitely not the option for you.
Thanks to the advancement of technology and the beauty industry, there are now less painful ways of getting rid of unwanted hair.
I don’t know about you but I am the type of person who cannot stand pain. I also stay away from expensive options as much as I can.
Below are 3 methods that are quite common among women who have found the secret to removing sideburns. Read on below to find out which one might be suitable for you.
Epilators are a very popular choice for hair removal these days.
Invest in an epilator and you will no longer need to continuously buy cosmetic products.
Many people say that this is the least painful way to remove unwanted hair. With that said, it is definitely worth a shot.
There are plenty to choose from between high end brands to cheaper options.
Although you might be tempted into buying something cheaper, remember that not all epilators are the same.
Invest some cash for a quality product to avoid accidents and skin-related harm.
Use your favorite cleanser and exfoliate your face if you can. This will prepare your skin for hair the hair removal process.
Cleaning your face will also rid your face of impurities, lessening the chance of infection due to bacteria.
If this is your first time using an epilator, getting rid of longer strands of facial hair makes it easier for the epilator to do its work.
Although most epilators claim to be able to remove any hair it comes across with, it is best to trim these strands just to be sure that your face is as clean as it can get.
Follow instructions that came with the tool. Different epilators have varied ways of usage, but a general rule of thumb is to never work with an epilator too fast or too close to the skin. Instead, use slow and gentle strokes to remove hair.
For first timers and veterans of epilator usage, it’s common to miss some spots that are too close to your hair line. Use a tweezer instead to clean areas where it’s hard to reach with an epilator.
Your skin might be red and swollen during the next day.
This is absolutely normal since your skin might be experiencing some shock from the pulling.
Simply use a soothing gel like aloe vera and your skin will heal sooner than you think.
Waxing isn’t a new process anymore. In fact, this may have been the method you have been using even before reading this article. There are plenty of reasons why a lot of people continue waxing.
One, it’s an affordable method that can be done from the comforts of your own home. And two, it hardly involves any harsh chemicals on the skin.
Because the skin on your face is highly sensitive, choose a waxing kit that is best suitable for facial use.
If you’re not quite ready to use the common type of wax, there are other options such as waxing strips and roll-on wax as well.
Since you may need to keep the wax on your face for a longer period of time, you may want to keep your hair away from your face.
After this, cleaning your face will also help your skin prepare for hair removal.
Follow the step-by-step preparation procedure of your chosen wax. In general, most kits will tell you to heat the wax using a microwave or so.
Carefully apply the wax on the selected area of skin while carefully making sure that the rest of your hair does not get caught up with the wax.
Most kits come with pre-trimmed strips. Use them to cover the applied wax. Make sure that the wax is still warm and let it be for about 10 seconds before removing the strip.
Pull your skin taut with one hand and use the other to remove the strip diagonally upwards. Apply soothing gel if preferred.
A hair removal cream is another popular option for those who want to finally get rid of unwanted facial hair.
Compared to the waxing treatment, hair removal creams are often found to be more convenient. This method does not require any heating or waxing strips at all.
As long as you have bought a tube of your own, you are ready to use it just by stepping into the shower. One thing that must be taken into account of are allergies.
There are quite a number of people who are not able to use this product because it does not suit their skin.
If you’re adamant about using this product, do you research and find out which active ingredient you are potentially allergic to. Consult with a dermatologist if you need to. The important rule is to play it safe.
After deciding which brand of hair removal cream to buy, go ahead and purchase it from your local cosmetics shop.
Depending on the brand of cream, there will be different instructions to follow. But generally, most companies will instruct you to apply the product all over the desired area and wait for a few minutes.
Some brands might have a spatula or some tool to help you shave off the cream and the remaining hair. Simply use stated item and rinse afterwards.
Of course, aside from these home treatments, you are always free to visit a hair removal specialist. Laser technology is becoming more advanced and rest assured, these procedures are quite safe as long as you go to a trusted clinic.
Find a well renowned laser treatment in the area closest to you and schedule an appointment. Professionals will be able to assist you better on how to get rid of sideburns.

After taking a good look at your favorite cosmetic products at home, you may have noticed a common ingredient that constantly pops up in every label: glycerin.
There has been a lot of debate lately whether or not manufacturers should still continue to use the said ingredient. With that said, a search for glycerin substitute is currently in place.
Although proven to be quite effective in skin care uses, the process of production in obtaining glycerin is in question. Individuals and organizations who advocate a more vegan approach to cosmetics are looking into other vegan-friendly materials as a glycerin substitute.
If you’re interested, plant-derived glycerin also exists. However, there is reason to believe that most glycerin used in cosmetic products come from animals - particularly from animal tallow, a common source for animal-derived glycerin.
This may not be a serious problem for non-vegans. However, as more and more companies are diverting into more vegan-friendly options, we should also start paying closer attention to what we are using for our bodies.
Glycerin can also be synthetically produced. This type of glycerin is proven to be quite harmful for the skin, compared to the animal-derived or plant-derived glycerin.
The tedious and chemical inducing process of creating synthetic glycerin is obviously not natural as well.
According to some people, they have reported irritation from using products with synthetic glycerin. In extreme cases, a tingling and burning sensation was also felt. Others have also said that their skin became soggy or dry after usage.
Aside from production being deemed as unethical for a specific group of people, there are also many individuals out there who are allergic to glycerin.
Although very safe for topical use, some people cannot tolerate the effects of glycerin on their skin. Some people may even show signs of skin redness, itchiness, formation of painful bumps and a burning sensation.
Glycerin has been used in cosmetics for quite a long time. Because of the many benefits it offers, it’s no wonder why companies still prefer to use this ingredient. In fact, glycerin in cosmetic products has no severe side effects of usage at all.
But of course, there is a bit of a caution. As they say, too much of a good thing is bad. Pure glycerin can become very harmful to the skin when used alone.
Now that we have some reasons as to why glycerin needs to be replaced, let’s take a look at why this ingredient is very popular in the first place:
If you wan to find more information about acne , you can read this post:When Does Acne Go Away? Find Out Now!
With all the benefits listed above, is there really another alternative to glycerin? The answer is yes. And more often than not, these substitutes are also all natural. Try replacing your glycerin containing products for these options instead.
Unsurprisingly, coconut oil makes it into the list of glycerin substitutes. If there is one natural ingredient that can do it all, that would be coconut oil. It is very safe for both topical use and consumption and is proven to provide tons of health benefits.
In terms of replacing glycerin, coconut oil is rich in natural vitamins that promote overall healthy skin.
It is also capable of moisturizing and healing redness and irritation of the skin. Plus, it is very easy to find and easily accessible in any local market.
Sodium lactate is another name that may sound familiar after reading cosmetic product labels.
It is perhaps the closest thing to glycerin when it comes to making your skin feel moisturized and supple.
But compared to glycerin, sodium lactate does not leave you feeling sticky.
If you are considering creating your own cosmetic products, or simply on the lookout for ones that are already available in the market, sodium lactate may be the most common theme for glycerin substitutes.
Looking to try something new? Try Honeyquat. It’s not surprising if you haven’t heard of the name before.
Honeyquat is quite rare in common commercial products. But if you have some time, take a trip to a natural cosmetics shop and you might see it on some labels.
Honeyquat, as the name would suggest, is made from honey. It is a water soluble conditioning agent. And according to research, it has moisturizing capabilities better than glycerin.

Another unpopular name in common cosmetics is Vegemoist, or Glycine Betaine.
It is essentially a beet sugar extract that is safe for topical use, consumption and definitely worth trying in substituting glycerin.
Instead of absorbing moisture from the air like glycerin, Vegemoist actually adds hydration onto your skin. This means that it does not dry up your the water from within your skin onto the top layer like what glycerin does.
With that said, Vegemoist does not have a drying effect on your skin even after use.
At the end of the day, you have to understand the needs of your skin. Even though glycerin or its substitutes seem like a great product to use, you need to first assess and understand your skin better.
As always, your skin is not the same as others so don’t be disappointed if a product or method is not working out for you. There are plenty of options out there to try out.
What is your opinion on glycerin? Should we still continue to use it? If not, which products have you been using to fill in the advantages we can get from a glycerin containing product? Leave your answers on the comments below and let’s discuss together with other readers!
It is said that actress and popular style icon, Marilyn Monroe, used Vaseline in her daily beauty regimen. She used the said product to moisturize her face often and as an anti-aging treatment. Little did she know that this was promoting facial hair growth as well!
This incident, as well as some scientific backup, has led people to believe that Vaseline does indeed help in promoting hair growth. And one of the best and common areas of the face to apply it on happens to be on one’s eyebrows.
There was a time in the past when pencil eyebrows used to be a thing; the thinner, the better. And unsurprisingly, women even thought that having no eyebrows was a great thing as this allows them to use that pencil to draw their own brows.
All of that is in the past now. Since recent years, thicker and fuller brows are making a strong impact in both the fashion and beauty industry.
Beauty professionals say that thicker brows make you look youthful and healthy, while thinner brows have a more severe and intense look.
Personally, I would really love to have Cara Delevingne’s eyebrows. The problem is, there are plenty of women out there (me, included) who don’t have the luxury of deeper brows. Experts say that petroleum jelly or Vaseline can help. The question is, does Vaseline help eyebrows grow?
One should not question the capabilities of Vaseline or petroleum jelly. It locks moisture on your skin by creating a barrier - and no, it will not clog your pores. It is said to be great for dry and chapped skin. What’s more is that it is also used to heal wounds and burns.
With that said, no wonder it is used as a way to promote hair growth. Vaseline or petroleum jelly can prevent further damage or breakage of hair, and it also keeps hair moisturized. When hair is treated properly, it is only natural that it will grow healthily with time.
Although you may apply petroleum jelly any time during the day, many people who are trying to promote hair growth with Vaseline will tell you to apply it before sleeping. Leaving the product on overnight while you rest will make it even more effective.
Some will tell you to apply it twice a day - once in the morning before you start your day, and in the evening before going to bed.
There are also others who say that you can alternate between Vaseline and olive oil for better results. Whichever advice you take, here are some general tips on how to apply Vaseline for eyebrow growth.
The very first step into skin care is to clean your face off from impurities. This will prep your face for the following procedures, and will give better results than a dirty slate. Besides, you don’t want to lock in dirt and grime onto your face, am I right?
Unless you want to grow hair on odd spots on your face ala Marilyn Monroe mishap, take it easy and only apply to areas where eyebrow hair is sparse.
This may sound very obvious but I have to say it again. For the people out there who can not go through a day without keeping an eye out for stray hair, or those who just can’t wait to shape your brows: give your eyebrows a break and let them grow for a while.
You may not notice it, but oftentimes your products are to blame for hair loss.
If your skin care product or makeup is irritating your skin, you are not putting your eyebrows in an environment where it can grow healthily.
Toss those toxins away; your face - and your brows will thank you.
Castor Oil is said to be a great for the regrowth of your hair. If you’re looking into growing your sparse eyebrows fast, you may want to try using castor oil as well.
Nothing can divulge your true age other more obviously than crepey skin. Most people just call it dry and wrinkled skin, but others call it an aging individual's worst enemy - and with very good reason.
They are very difficult to get rid of; not even your most hydrating moisturizer would work!
Crepey skin shows up in various areas of the body, but it is most commonly found around the neck, elbows or knees.
Many people consider this as a definite sign of aging, this is why there are also many who are eager to get rid of crepey skin.
And because they are quite difficult to remove, undergoing expensive skin tightening procedures at a clinic may seem to be the only solution.
However, there are actually plenty of other ways to deal with crepey skin. Also, these techniques are almost always natural and easy to do at home.
But first, let us discuss the many culprits that cause crepey skin. A lot of people assume that since crepey skin is a sign of aging, there is nothing that can be done if indeed, one is getting older.
Many would say that it is only natural and all of us will have to face it sooner or later.
The fact is, not everyone has crepey skin. Later within this article, we will discuss about how to incorporate anti-crepey skin techniques into your everyday regimen. But for now, let us take a look at why crepey skin even exists in the first place:
Many people associate age with crepey skin. While it is true that aging is the number one cause of crepey skin, it isn’t the number of our age we should be concerned about.
Normally from the age of 50, our skin begins to lose elastin and collagen which makes skin look youthful.
It is elastin and collagen that makes skin firm and elastic when we are younger. Without it, our skin will begin to sag and will form lines, wrinkles and of course, crepey skin.
Now that we know how important collagen is in keeping the youthfulness of our skin, it is also important to note that overexposure to sunlight can also damage collagen, otherwise known as “cross-linking”.
When skin is exposed to the sun’s harsh UV rays, collagen becomes inflexible. This is probably the main reason why dermatologists always recommend using sunblock as early and as often as possible.
We all know that mature skin is not as flexible as it used to be. Our skin is capable of stretching and reforming itself when we were younger, but because of the lack of collagen on our skin as we age, it might be difficult for it to bounce back into shape.
This is why a drastic change in weight can cause the skin to sag. This is not to say that one must not pursue weight loss just to avoid crepey skin. Of course, there are ways to cure sagging without having to sacrifice a healthier lifestyle.
Smoking is never good for one’s health to begin with so it is not surprising that this is on the list of crepey skin causes.
Almost everyone knows that excessive smoking can lead to lung cancer, but what many don’t know is that smoking is a catalyst for aging.
Crepey skin is normally found on the neck or legs, but did you know that crepey skin also creeps up near the mouth area of smokers?
Tobacco smoke contains about 4000 different harmful chemicals, many of them destroy elastin and collagen. Obviously, a great cause of crepey skin.
Let’s take a step back and learn a bit about the science of our bodies. A diet that’s high in sugar causes a chemical process in our bodies known as glycation.
During this process, a fat lipid molecule bonds with a sugar molecule. As a result, advanced glycation end product is formed. These advanced glycation end product (or AGEs), are known to stiffen protein fibers.
In fact, elastin and collagen are some of the most affected protein types during the glycation process. As a result, skin becomes inelastic, forming wrinkles, fine lines and crepey skin.
Of course, with advanced technology, we can now get rid of crepey skin at a clinic. But more often than not, they are quite expensive for everyone to afford.
Not only this, but in some rare cases, a clinical surgery may cause even bigger problems when not treated carefully.
Thankfully, there are also natural methods which can be done from the comforts of your own home. The list below shows some simple natural techniques to get rid of crepey skin.
For many centuries, honey has proven itself as one of the most effective skin-saving natural ingredients one can ever use.
Did you know that honey can also slow down skin aging?
It is filled with natural antioxidants that can cure acne and improve one’s complexion.
To use honey in your regular skin regimen, you can use it while giving yourself a massage.
A facial massage isn’t just for the sake of applying honey, it can also help lift your skin and relax tense facial muscles. Here are some steps which you can follow:
One of the most simplest cures is to drink more water.
Your skin needs to keep hydrated in order to be healthy.
Moisturizing the skin can also eventually cure away crepey skin.
In fact, some doctors even say that drinking water is the key to anti-aging.
The cells in our body are made up of up to 75% water. It makes a lot of sense to replenish ourselves with water throughout the day.
Our skin can tell a lot about the type of food we eat and the type of lifestyle we live in.
Feeding ourselves healthy and nutritious food will definitely affect the outlook of our skin. This is because even our skin relies on the amount of minerals and vitamins we can get through our diet.
And as we’ve discussed before, a diet that is high in sugar or engaging in smoking can very well affect our skin.
Getting rid of crepey skin does not just stop at cosmetic beauty, it is also about taking care of your body inside and out.
Exfoliating isn’t just getting rid of dead skin cells. Doing so will also stimulate the production of collagen and will also improve dull looking skin, especially for mature skin.
And as we all know by now, collagen plays an important role in diminishing crepey skin.
There are plenty of ways one could start exfoliating. Today, there are many commercial exfoliators in almost any skin care brand. But if you would like to give a more natural technique a try, here are steps you can do at home:
Share this with anyone who might want to learn how to get rid of crepey skin. Remember that disciplined skin care and a healthy lifestyle can dramatically change the overall outlook of your skin.
There is no need to be disappointed over a few fine lines or wrinkles around your eyes.
What matters most is to keep yourself healthy. If you have any questions regarding crepey skin, I would love to hear all about them. Leave a comment down below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

The very first time I heard about strawberry legs, I thought it was a flattering compliment. After all, strawberries are very delicious and good for your skin. And it is undoubtedly one of my favorite fruits to snack on. Later, I found out that it wasn't a compliment at all.
One day, a friend of mine asked me how to get rid of strawberry legs. I was so confused - who wouldn't want delicious looking legs?
And so I found out that having strawberry legs isn't what I thought it was. And what a horrible comparison it is to be related to such a luscious fruit!
If you are as naive as I am, you're in for a surprise. Strawberry legs, scientifically referred to as open comedones, refers to the very visible dark spots one might have on their legs.
The term was coined after the fact that it resembles the outer skin of a strawberry fruit. This also refers to hair dots, or the short hairs that still remain after shaving.
Although studies show that this problem mostly affects women of color, people who do not take care of their skin properly and those who do not practice proper shaving may also suffer from the inconvenience of strawberry legs.
Women who have lighter skin and darker hair may very well eliminate this problem with a laser treatment.
But for those who are looking to resolve their issues with home treatments instead, this may not be a viable solution.
Thankfully, there are also plenty of easy and inexpensive ways to get rid of these strawberry legs.
Although skin color may play a big role in affecting the occurrence of strawberry legs, you must remember that it is just natural.
However, there are also plenty of underlying factors related to bad habits and poor skin care. These can be improved by simply changing your lifestyle.
Do you sometimes notice a bump on your skin that’s not hives and not really a pimple either?
Oftentimes, you might notice something like a tiny strand of hair stuck inside the bump.
I know it sounds gross, but this is very common. You might have an ingrown hair.
Ingrown hair occurs when hair grows sideways into the skin instead of upwards.
The hair may also curl back into the skin, creating a bump that may look like a boil. This is because the hair follicle is clogged, disallowing the hair to grow normally.
These bumps can be itchy and painful at times but overall, these ingrown hairs are also a main factor causing strawberry legs.
Your skin needs to rejuvenate every 28 days, forming new skin cells. Once these cells are not renewed, a buildup of dead skin cells occurs. This makes your skin appear dull and dry.
The accumulation of dead skin cells also attributes to the clogging of hair follicles. Since a lot of build up has happened on your skin, hair does not grow properly as it should which results to ingrown hair and strawberry legs.
These oxidized sebum on your skin is apparently the dark spots that you see on your legs. Of course, compared to the skin on your face, your legs are less oily.
Often referred to as "razor bumps", improper shaving habits usually result to hair follicle infection.
Many people usually say that using a dull razor will not only bring you unsatisfactory results in terms of shaving, but it can actually do more harm to your skin.
Unsurprisingly, dull razors can also give you razor burns, bumps and a rash. But in relation to strawberry legs, poor shaving habits are also the number one root cause of ingrown hair.
As we have discussed, ingrown hair is directly responsible for strawberry legs.
Have you ever attempted to use cucumber slices to get rid of eyebags? The same concept comes into play when using the cucumber juice treatment.
Cucumbers are not to get rid of dark spots, making it one of the best all-natural treatments for strawberry legs.
There are 2 types of methods when using cucumber juice. Both are very easy to do and require minimal ingredients. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do this treatment:
Pure Cucumber Juice Method: Prepare one cucumber and mash it well in order to make a smooth paste.
Apply the cucumber paste thoroughly on the affected parts of your leg.
After 3-5 minutes, rinse the paste off and dry. You may apply moisturizer afterwards for extra care.
For better results, you may want to do this treatment twice a day - preferably in the morning and in the evening. This way your skin had enough time to rest in between intervals.
Cucumber and Lemon Juice With Rosewater Method: As the name suggests, this method requires you to add in some lemon juice and rosewater.
Lemon juice is known to have detoxifying and whitening properties.
While rosewater has anti-inflammatory properties which help lessen irritation, redness and other forms of acne.
To do this treatment, all you have to do is to mix together equal portions of mashed cucumber, lemon juice and rosewater.
Apply the solution on your leg just like in the first method and rinse after 5-10 minutes. You may continue doing this method as often as you like.
Massaging the skin as often as possible brings in a lot of benefits.
Apart from releasing tension around your muscles, your skin will also benefit from the oils that you apply onto it.
Here are some oil mixtures you may want to try to get rid of strawberry legs:
Olive oil / Coconut Oil with Sandalwood Oil Mix: Mix a few tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil with a few drops sandalwood oil and massage thoroughly on your legs.
Olive oil and coconut oil are proven to heal damaged skin as well as lock moisture in your skin. Because strawberry legs often result to dry skin, this is a good combination to try.
Tea Tree Oil and Olive Oil Mix: Similar to the olive oil / coconut oil with sandalwood mix, using tea tree oil and olive oil together heals the skin.
If you’re not a big fan of the strong aromatic scent of sandalwood oil, feel free to replace it with tea tree oil instead. A few drops of tea tree and a tablespoon of olive oil goes a long way.
It is very important to exfoliate the skin in order to get rid of dead skin cells and avoid buildup.
Exfoliate the skin once a week with your trusted product of choice and you are sure to banish ingrown hair and strawberry legs as well.
If you’re looking for a natural way to exfoliate, you may want to try this method:
Lemon and Sugar Exfoliator: Although excessive sugar is bad for your health, it is ironically very good for your skin.
Squeeze one lemon into a container and mix about 55 grams of sugar to form a light paste. Apply it thoroughly onto your legs in a scrubbing motion and rinse after a few minutes.
Last but not the least, exercising proper shaving habits is still the best way to get rid of strawberry legs. Here are a few do’s and dont’s in shaving:
There are plenty of easy methods out there for you to try so there is no need to worry so much about strawberry legs. Although it may seem like a troublesome thing to deal with, having proper lifestyle habits should do the trick to avoid the problem in the first place.

Did you dye your a lighter shade recently, only to find that the color is starting to fade away? Or worse, your hair’s showing an unnaturally yellow or orange tinge?
How do you get rid of brassy hair? Go to any salon and professionals will usually suggest that you tone your hair.
But don’t worry, this isn’t another very intensive procedure. However, there are a lot of conditions that you need to keep in mind before proceeding. So the big question is, how to tone hair?
Before we get into the nitty gritty of the hair toning world, let us first try to understand what are toners and the different kinds you may encounter:
Simply put, a toner is a bluish or purplish tinted low peroxide product that is made to neutralize yellow or orange shades of dyed hair.
Without a toner, your dyed blonde hair may actually turn out to be mango yellow rather than the natural look you were looking for.
Toners are best applied after bleaching one’s hair. This is because they aren’t meant to lift the shade of your hair color; it is actually used to change the hair’s undertones.
Instead of an intense yellow-orange shade, a toner gives your hair a more dusty platinum color.
With that said, toners will not work on darker shades of hair. In terms of application, toners can also be used on specific areas only.
Although you may use it all over your hair, it is not necessary. This just means you can manipulate the overall look of your hair as you like.
Apart from a more natural-looking hair, toners are also capable of putting the shine and glow on your hair! This makes it appear healthy and free from damage.
If you tend to wash your hair very frequently, this would also mean that you would have to tone your hair often as well.
Using shampoos and other hair chemical products are not only capable of stripping away your hair’s natural oils, they also fade away your dyed hair color.
This is one of the reasons why going blonde is one of the most high maintenance hair color changes you can make.
Regular trips to the salon can become quite expensive real fast. So can you tone your hair at home, you ask?
The answer is yes, there are a lot of home treatment options out there for toning your hair.
Although simply going to a salon and having it done by a professional seems to be an obvious and easy solution, a treatment at home might just be all it takes.
In fact, there are 3 types of toners that are out there on the market: purple shampoos, dyes and ammonia toners.
A purple shampoo is probably the most commonly suggested and easily used product to tone your brassy hair.
Don’t be afraid of the intense purple-blue color, it will not turn you into a purple minion. Aside from cleaning out your hair from grime, it neutralizes your hair.
Purple shampoos deposits surface color to prevent undesired brassiness. What’s great about it is that you don’t need to learn extra tips on usage. If you know how to wash your own hair, you can definitely use this product with ease.
For the more confident and experienced users out there, ammonia toners may be your best bet to get the results you want.
Just as the name mentions, ammonia toners contain ammonia and are semi-permanent.
Unless you are sure of what you’re doing, I would not recommended beginners to start using this product.
If you wish to use this product, please do be careful as ammonia toners are capable of altering the pigments of your hair shaft.
One small mistake could lead to one problem to the other. If your hair has gone through a lot of intense treatments or is damaged, avoid using this product.
Dyeing your hair is almost like painting. For example, how do you make a green color? The obvious answer is to mix blue and yellow.
The same principle goes for toning your hair with hair dye - you need to know how much of blue or purple you need to neutralize your brassy hair.
This method is a little bit more unconventional compared to the other two above.
Using purple hair dye to tone down your hair may require you to estimate how much dye you need to use, depending on the intensity of your brassiness.
Such method might not work out for you if you are, like me, terrible at estimating.

After learning about the 3 best ways you can do to tone your hair, how do you choose which one works for you?
That all depends on your hair and your skill level in dealing with these kinds of hair products. For beginners, I would have to say that the purple shampoo is your best bet.
But if you are still feeling uncomfortable about doing this all on your own, do not second guess yourself. Go ahead and visit your favorite salon to have it done for you.

Whether you’ve accidentally got candle wax on your daughter’s hair (or even on your pet’s fur) or if you have been struggling to wash off styling wax, you will soon realize that getting rid of wax out of your hair is no easy feat.
It is quite a struggle that if you are ever in this situation, you might even consider chopping your hair off.
Unfortunate accidents aside, continuous use of wax in hair styling products can be very bad for your hair as well. The buildup of wax will not only leave your hair grimy and dirty, but this could lead to some problems for your scalp as well.
You might be thinking that shampoo and tons of water might help. Perhaps vigorous scrubbing should do the trick as well.
But obviously, these will not solve your problem and might even cause more damage onto your scalp unintendedly.
Before doing anything, here are a few things you should not attempt in order to get rid of wax:
Need a quick fix? Google might tell you to use dishwashing liquid. Although dishwashing liquid is very effective in removing oils and wax, its components are not very safe for your hair. Chemicals used in dishwashing liquids can even cause damage onto your scalp.
Of course, you are free to use this on items such as your carpets or clothing - but never for your hair. Just because it works doesn’t mean it is suitable for you.
Not only is this a painful process for you, but it will not do anything to help your situation out.
You may successfully remove a small amount of wax but without prepping your hair first, simply brushing will only cause you to damage your hair in the process.
You know that rinsing it off a couple of times probably won’t work - and neither will cold water.
If at first rinse, the wax does not completely come off, use one of the methods below this article. Shampoo will cause your hair and scalp to dry out thus, damaging your hair as well.
